Morphes
Throughout the film, we are uncertain of the precise relationship of the two characters - believing that they are either the same (with the boy representing the man's childhood self), or a young boy and his grandfather.
As the film develops, we realise that the house is slowly coming to life, with the paintings surrounding the characters becoming animated, and characters from their lives appearing and disappearing from dark corners.
It is a film which is driven by rhythm, sound and music, more so than a fixed narrative.
