‘oneminuteglitches’ is a collection of one-minute video-poems navigating anxiety, vulnerability, and a loss of control.
Each poem is made to feel like a diary entry, designed to exist within the constraints of an Instagram video post – i.e. they are one minute long, have a 1:1 aspect ratio, and contain abstract animation and a glitchy musical aesthetic which is just as expressive under file compression.
The claustrophobic nature of these constraints is used to create tension between the speaker’s need for self-expression, and the limitations imposed by digital communication technology.
The film was produced between February and April 2020 using free software and free online file editors.
"requiem" honors the passing of a single word from the heart of the poet, to the poet's lips, then to the audience and its fleeting life suspended in air. A tragic death or does that word find new life and meaning in memory?
This Experimental FilmPoem conjures a cortège for a spoken word.
"Such Complexity/Air & Wind" uses text, along with variable shutter speeds, a camera unexpectedly alternating between fixed and unfettered positions, time dilation and compression, and editing patterns in dialectic with the rhythms of the music, to create an uncanny synesthesia both metaphoric and concrete, a visual poem for the forest produced by sound.
Jack's erasure poem, "Such Complexity," extracted from "The Secret Wisdom of Nature," by Peter Wohlleben," adds another dimension to our experimental music video, "Air & Wood," inspired by "Luft und Holz II," a new music composition by Ezzat Nashashibi, performed by the Ensemble New Babylon (Chloe L'Abbé, flute, and Martin Abendroth, clarinet), suggesting that forest ecosystems (and ecosystems in general) are so complex and interrelated that our best understanding should tell us, not to try to master and fix them, but to leave them untouched as much as possible.

Sometimes it takes the darkness of a disaster, to throw light on the enduring power of love.

This film came from an experimental group video project which Filmmaker Jemma Cholawo set in motion during Lockdown 2.0, inviting people of all backgrounds and creative abilities to share their personal experience of the pandemic through structured, not-quite-timelapse videos and a spoken word piece. The result of the project is an audio-visual journey through unique perspectives connected by the shared experience of living in a global pandemic, with contributors from the UK, France and Canada. Lois' poem 'Inside' was the final contribution to the film and she and Jemma have now reworked the piece to create this stand alone short film.

It was a decade of excess and excitement and made for the perfect introduction to a new, uniquely American take on a familiar sport. It was called the Major Indoor Soccer League. The “slow,” “low scoring,” “boring” European sport was transformed and rebranded as “hockey on turf” and for a short, but exciting time America fell in love with it.

Exploring the more narrative soul of fashion film while staying true to the genre’s strong focus on aesthetics, Alex tells us of a woman reliving and working through a trauma. Inspired by EMDR therapy, the film looks at abandonment during childhood as something that is likely to accompany us into adulthood. Through an experimental, movement-led approach, Alex takes us on a journey into the human psyche.
From the music composition and fashion design to the photography and choice of location, everything about Alex is thought up to recreate a dreamlike scenario. Shot in a historical villa in the Lombard region of Italy, the film employs dance as a release tool to work through one’s traumas. Lead character and dancer Silvia Bonavigo thus challenges her fears by interacting with the space around her through a series of choreographed movements. A collaboration with Italian label Kappe by Federica Bonifaci, the iconic capes of the mono product brand were selected to emphasise and complement the wearer’s gestures.
Breaking away from pre-established video genres, Alex finds itself at a crossroad between fashion film, short film and dance video. The film is a personal project and the director’s first narrative work. Alex has been selected by more than 25 international festivals, with 10 nominations and 5 wins including Best Actress at A Shaded View on Fashion Film, Best International Fashion Film at Buenos Aires Fashion Film Festival and Best Performance at Canadian Fashion Film Festival.

Passionate, free and filled with enthusiasm, we bounce back from a difficult moment by claiming the now and looking into the future. Set in Milan to the sound of Italian musician Coez, the film speaks of love, desire and friendship, as we wander through a city about to burst with summer and sunshine. A celebration of the overwhelming intensity of life, Non So Dove, Ma Insieme stands as a powerful and joyful rebirth.
As with all his productions, Finotti takes particular care of the cast by ensuring a strong focus on diversity. Through an open call on Instagram, he selected actor Federico Cesari (23), trans activist Francesco Cicconetti (24), fashion designer Naomi Oke (25), synchronised swimming winner Camilla Vettore (17), models Diogo Gomes (23) and Matteo Tagliabue (24) and stylist Cai Yu (24).
The idea for the film was born out of a brainstorming session between Giorgetti and Finotti. “MSGM has faith in our present and looks into the future with optimism, passion and poetry. The film addresses the uncertainty we have been experiencing, but also underlines the importance of being able to face it united as one. Only together can we truly dream” - states Giorgetti.
Directed by Giulia Achenza, Fenice - Momoni SS21 is an ode to the cyclical, regenerative nature of life. Employing dance to unfold its narrative, the fashion film celebrates the world of symbolism through a series of sensual, yet ethereal movements and gestures.
