Try To Try To

Try To

Feeling guilty means being lost, hurt, sad, paralyzed, hopeless, angry. “Try To” should make us feel all of the above. It is a story about guilt and a story about a question: Can we keep on living, knowing what we have done? The world that surrounds our main character John, is fabricated by his mind, his thoughts, fears, hopes and memories. John has encapsuled himself in this
imaginary world to keep out the real one. However, through his senses, the outside keeps creeping in. The things he hears and feels in the real-world weave into his imaginary experience, hinting at what he has done. He can now choose to keep
ignoring reality and with it the ones that need him the most, or he can come back into the real-world and live with his guilt. John will never be able to live a normal life again, but for his family he at least must try to.

Dance More Dance More

Dance More

Are you a compulsive over-achiever? Dance More encourages us to value pleasurable experiences over mindless achievement.

Dance More is one of 9 videos that comprise Directions to Enough, an experimental, self-help video series. The series presents guidelines for slowing down, becoming more present, and accepting difficult circumstances while maintaining high levels of creativity, productivity, and agency. These guidelines were first articulated during the Art of Enough podcast series. (Segment 5 – Directions to Enough – Jay Sullivan, 2018)

Each video in the Directions to Enough video series has several intentions: 1) communicate to the audience a useful guideline for improving psychological and emotional health, 2) explore and expand the strategies and motifs related to traditional instructional videos, 3) create a unique creative process where the production of the video creates improved psychological and emotional health for the filmmaker.
