Death Quiz is an old-fashioned style game show hosted by The Grim Reaper, whereby recently deceased contestants compete to try and avoid going to hell for their sins and misdemeanours. Everything is here, from the cheesy, ghoulish host and bug-like 'dolly girl' assistants, to the wheel of misfortune and zombie audience. An animation comedy, loosely based on real-life events... Possibly.

The Fall

The country was transitioning from the late 1970s into the 80s and pop culture was shifting along with it. It was a decade of excess and excitement and made for the perfect introduction to a new, uniquely American take on a familiar sport. It was called the Major Indoor Soccer League. The “slow,” “low scoring,” “boring” European sport was transformed and rebranded as “hockey on turf” and for a short, but exciting time America fell in love with it.

From East to West all the major markets had a team: Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Houston, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, New York, the list goes on. But one city had a franchise that didn’t fit within that roster: Wichita, KS.

With the help of several passionate owners, a charming Liverpudlian Coach, a roster of talented, sexy, pro athletes from Denmark, England, and beyond, and an energetic and dedicated fanbase, the Wichita Wings held their own in the most exciting sports league of the decade. "God Save the Wings" chronicles their journey through the 80s, sharing the thrills, wackiness, and flagrant debauchery; their triumphant victories and shattering defeats. Told in a style that matches the cheesiness and kitsch of the 1980s, this film serves as a time machine for a period when American Pop Culture was just plain fun.

God Save the Wings

Inside.

Two minutes of Love and Life by Jemma Cholawo and Lois Norman

Sometimes it takes the darkness of a disaster, to throw light on the enduring power of love.

A tender two moments of reflection by writer Lois Norman, as she keeps her 95 year Father close and safe at home, during Lockdown. Inside, the 'feminine’ nurtures, protects and holds the memory of loved ones in our hearts. It reclaims the strength of 'family' and the power of Love to sustain us all.

This film came from an experimental group video project which Filmmaker Jemma Cholawo set in motion during Lockdown 2.0, inviting people of all backgrounds and creative abilities to share their personal experience of the pandemic through structured, not-quite-timelapse videos and a spoken word piece. The result of the project is an audio-visual journey through unique perspectives connected by the shared experience of living in a global pandemic, with contributors from the UK, France and Canada. Lois' poem 'Inside' was the final contribution to the film and she and Jemma have now reworked the piece to create this stand alone short film.

Friends and family have joined filmmakers Paul London and Tracey Moberly to represent their LOCKDOWN LOVE viewed through the lenses of their smartphones. From rollerblading through the empty sanitized streets of Krasnoyarsk, in Eastern Siberia; the observation of boredom on a masseuse's face in Bali, Indonesia; nature vocalizing itself through a typical thunderstorm in Jinja, Uganda; empty trains, planes and automobiles ... to the love of parents, carers and children - old and young from across the globe. Red weaves a theme throughout the imagery as members from 40 countries depict their account of LOCKDOWN LOVE … guided by a faceless red-winged angel.

Inspired by this Kentish micropub movement, three entrepreneurial Londoners decide to open their very own micropubs in this observational feature length documentary.

‘oneminuteglitches’ is a collection of one-minute video-poems navigating anxiety, vulnerability, and a loss of control.

Each poem is made to feel like a diary entry, designed to exist within the constraints of an Instagram video post – i.e. they are one minute long, have a 1:1 aspect ratio, and contain abstract animation and a glitchy musical aesthetic which is just as expressive under file compression.

The claustrophobic nature of these constraints is used to create tension between the speaker’s need for self-expression, and the limitations imposed by digital communication technology.

The film was produced between February and April 2020 using free software and free online file editors.
